Chipped Tooth Repair

Your teeth can withstand an amazing amount of pressure and impact without breaking. However, they are not indestructible. Chips, cracks and other damage can occur, putting the health of your smile at risk. As part of our general dentistry treatments at Dunwoody Family & Cosmetic Dentistry, we offer efficient and effective tooth repairs to protect your oral health and keep your smile looking its best.

Even a small chip can put the health of a tooth at risk. Once the outer enamel is damaged, it makes it easier for decay and infection to find its way inside the tooth. A chipped tooth is a simple fix – dental bonding or a filling can be used to restore the tooth to its original shape and protect the essential inner pulp of the tooth. We offer tooth-colored options to repair chipped teeth so the repair blends in perfectly with the rest of your smile.

Repairs to Cracked or Broken Teeth

A cracked or broken tooth is more serious than just a small chip. Depending on the location of the breakage, the tooth structure can be put at risk. If not repaired, the pressure from chewing can further damage the tooth and even put it in jeopardy for loss.

Cracked and broken teeth can be repaired several different ways. In some cases, bonding or filling the tooth is all that is needed. If the tooth has more extensive damage, dental crowns, inlays or onlays may be needed to protect the tooth and offer more substantial strengthening to the tooth structure. We can use white or tooth-colored crowns or porcelain onlays/inlays to repair the tooth so your smile will still look radiantly white.
